Install HalalSpark on Wix

Wix handles code through your dashboard settings and visual editor. No file editing is required for standard setup.

Premium plan required

Adding custom code requires a Wix premium plan with a connected domain. If you are on a free plan, you will need to upgrade before continuing.

Before you start

Your website must be approved before ads can serve. If you have not added your site yet:

Go to your HalalSpark dashboard
Click Add Website
Submit for review

Approval usually takes up to 24 hours. You will be notified when complete.

Auto Ads

Add one script through your Wix dashboard settings.
HalalSpark handles placement automatically.

You only need to add this script once. Wix injects it across your entire site from a single setting — no editor required.

Control ad types, density, and page rules from your dashboard.

Get your Auto Ads script

Go to your HalalSpark Publisher Dashboard
Click your website
Open the Set Up Ads tab
Select Auto Ads and complete the setup steps
Copy your script from the final screen

If setup is already complete:

Go to your website → Placements tab
Click Copy Script next to your Auto Ads configuration

YOUR_WEBSITE_ID is unique to your site. Copy the script exactly as shown. Do not edit it.

Open Custom Code in your Wix dashboard

Open your site dashboard in Wix. In the left sidebar, click Settings.

Under Settings, find Custom Code and click it.

Then click + Add Custom Code.

ImportantCustom code must be added from the dashboard, not the Editor. If you are inside the visual Editor, go back to your site dashboard first.

Paste your script and configure placement

Paste your Auto Ads script into the code field.

Give it a name — for example, HalalSpark Auto Ads. This is just for your reference.

Then set the following options before saving:

Place code in: Head
Add code to pages: All pages

ImportantSelect Head — not Body. Auto Ads must load from the head section.

ImportantSelect All pages — not specific pages. If you choose specific pages, ads will only appear on those pages.

ImportantDo not remove the async attribute. Without it, the script can block your page from loading.

Apply and publish

Click Apply to save your code.

Then open your site in the Wix Editor and click Publish in the top-right corner.

ImportantYour code is not live until you publish. Adding code in the dashboard does not automatically update your live site.

Check your installation

Open your site in a new tab
Ads should appear within a few seconds
If nothing appears, add ?test=1 to your URL to preview, or see troubleshooting below

Adjust settings any time

You can change your settings at any time from the Placements tab in your dashboard:

Ad density — number of ads per page
Ad types — inline, banner, header, footer, sidebar
Page rules — include or exclude specific URLs

Changes apply immediately. No code updates required.

Need different ad settings on different page types? Use named profiles — each profile gets its own script URL (&profile=NAME). Set them up in your dashboard under Set Up Ads → Auto Ads → Add Profile. Full details in the Auto Ads guide.

Done. Auto Ads are now active. Impressions are only counted when an ad is at least 50% visible on screen for 1 second.

Preview mode: Add ?test=1 to your page URL. Ads show with a TEST label. No impressions are recorded.
Debug mode: Add ?debug=true to your page URL. Open your browser console to view logs and placement decisions.

Manual Ads

Place ads exactly where you want them.
Each placement has its own script from your dashboard. Add it to your page using the Wix embed element.

ImportantManual scripts are added through the Wix Editor as embed elements — not through Settings → Custom Code.

Get your placement script

Go to your HalalSpark Publisher Dashboard
Click your website
Open the Set Up Ads tab
Select Manual Ads, choose an ad type, and complete the setup
Copy your script from the final screen

If the placement already exists:

Go to your website → Placements tab
Click Copy next to the placement you want to install

ImportantThe domain= value must match your registered domain exactly.
example.com and www.example.com are treated as different values. A mismatch will prevent ads from serving.

Open the Wix Editor

Go to your site and click Edit Site to open the Editor.

In the Pages panel, navigate to the page where the ad should appear.

The ad will only appear on the page where you add the embed. Each page needs its own embed element and its own script.

Add an embed element

Click the + (Add Elements) button in the left toolbar.

Go to Embed → Custom Embed and select Embed HTML.

A new embed block will appear on your page.

Paste your script

Click the embed block, then click Enter Code. Paste your placement script and click Update.

The embed block acts as the ad container. HalalSpark ads work correctly inside Wix embeds.

Position and resize the embed

Drag the embed block to where you want the ad to appear on the page.

Resize the block so it is wide enough for the ad to display correctly — typically matching the width of your content area.

The ad will appear exactly where the embed block is placed on the page.

ImportantIf the embed block is too small, the ad may not display properly. Resize it if needed.

Publish your site

Click Publish in the top-right corner of the Editor.

ImportantChanges are not live until you publish. Always publish after adding or repositioning an embed element.

Check your installation

Open the page where you added the embed
The ad should appear at the position of the embed block
If nothing appears, add &test=1 to the script URL, or see troubleshooting below

Repeat for each page and position. Each placement needs its own embed element and its own script from your dashboard.

Done. Manual Ads are now active. Impressions are only counted when an ad is at least 50% visible on screen for 1 second.

Debug mode: Add &debug=1 to the script URL. Open your browser console to see the targeting decision for that placement.

Work through this checklist before raising a support request.

Publishing

You published your site after adding the code or embed — Wix does not apply changes until you publish
You published after any repositioning of embed elements

Script configuration (Auto Ads)

Custom code is set to Head — not Body
Custom code applies to All pages — not specific pages
The async attribute is present on the script tag
The script URL uses ads.halalspark.co.uk

Plan & approval

Your Wix plan supports custom code — free plans do not allow it
Your website is approved in your HalalSpark dashboard — the Set Up Ads tab only unlocks after approval
The domain= value in your manual script matches your registered domain exactly — www prefix matters

Embed element (Manual Ads)

The embed block is large enough for the ad to render — try making it wider or taller
You clicked Update after pasting your script into the embed
The embed is on the correct page

Browser & extensions

Disable ad blockers and privacy extensions, then reload
Test in a private browsing window with all extensions off

Auto Ads: add ?debug=true to your page URL → open browser console
Manual Ads: add &debug=1 to the script URL → open browser console
